Optical path and budget
Record the measured span length, fibre type, connector path and available loss measurements. Include mux/demux equipment and other passive components when reviewing the link budget.
Network application
Inter-site links need a record of the complete optical path. Include fibre spans, patch panels, passive equipment and both endpoint interfaces. Compare the current service with the target capacity before selecting a wavelength-specific or coherent model.

Record the measured span length, fibre type, connector path and available loss measurements. Include mux/demux equipment and other passive components when reviewing the link budget.
Provide the CWDM or DWDM plan, channel requirements and host interfaces. Confirm the exact coherent form factor and line-side requirements with the target platform.
Document retained links, upgrade windows and replacement units. Agree the paired endpoints and evaluation scope before deploying a new rate or wavelength.
Select the exact model after checking the host, cable path and operating requirements.
Compare CWDM, DWDM and tunable models against the installed path.

A POP expansion or access aggregation project may include different rates and optical paths in the same network. Document each span separately, including passive equipment, patching and the remote endpoint. This makes it possible to review the required optical budget and wavelength pairing without treating all links as interchangeable.
List the access, aggregation and uplink interfaces. Record whether each span uses a fibre pair or a single fibre, and identify the equipment at the remote end.
Provide the CWDM or DWDM channel plan and any mux/demux equipment in the path. For BiDi candidates, record the required transmit/receive pairing at both ends.
Provide span length and available loss measurements, including patching and passive components. Identify the sites requiring temperature review and the replacement stock needed by field teams.
Send the network topology, endpoint models, span lengths, fibre allocation, wavelength plan, passive equipment list and site temperature requirements.
