Choose the assembly for your application.
CWDM multiplexers and demultiplexers combine or separate wavelength channels over a shared fibre path. Select the channel plan and port arrangement together with the optics used at each end.
- Adding wavelength channels to a defined fibre route
- Point-to-point links with a CWDM channel plan
- Separating individual optical channels at a remote site
Configuration and ordering options
- Channel plan
- List every required wavelength and channel count, including expansion channels.
- Fibre topology
- Specify single-fibre or dual-fibre operation and the equipment at both ends.
- Optical budget
- Include fibre loss, connectors, splices and mux/demux insertion loss in the end-to-end budget.
- Ports and enclosure
- State connector and polish type, monitoring or expansion ports and mounting requirements.
Selection questions
Does a mux/demux replace the optical transceivers?
No. The channel optics and passive wavelength equipment perform different functions. Match the transceiver wavelengths and interfaces to the selected channel plan.
What is needed to review the optical budget?
Provide the route length and loss measurements, channel optics, connectors, splices and other passive devices in the path.
